“With the new 2257 regulations, I’m coming on board at an extremely exciting time,” incoming Communications Director Tom Hymes told XBiz. “I’m jumping into a cauldron.” Hymes is a former editor for AVN.
As FSC communications director, Hymes will be responsible for public relations, editorial and media-related duties, oversight of publications and the websites, as well as development and execution of advertising and marketing campaigns.
The FSC will also introduce its new Washington D.C. lobbyist, Aubrey King. King will present a report on the Beltway’s political environment and FSC’s federal lobbying efforts. He will then field questions from attendees.
Executive director Michelle Freridge told XBiz that New York’s FSC meeting, held during a poorly-attended convention, was itself sparsely populated.
“The release of the new 2257 regs make tonight’s meeting very timely,” she said, “and we will have multiple attorneys there to discusss the implications of the new standards.”
Tonight’s meeting will begin at 5:30 at the Warner Center Marriott in Woodland Hills. Discussion will be followed with a no-host bar. Reservations are expected and can be made here.
