Adult Industry Vet Mara Epstein Joins Evotum

LOS ANGELES — Evotum has tapped adult industry vet Mara Epstein to help market its streaming video technology.

The New York-based company, which is a new division of London-based technology firm Vividas, has signed deals in the past few months with a number of blue-chip adult studios, including Dane Productions, Wicked Pictures, SexZ Pictures and Kick Ass Productions.

Evotum’s Carlos Moreno told XBIZ the company has three more deals in the works, but he would not elaborate.

“What's great about Evotum's technology is that it enhances that vivid, vintage/retro look and feel minus the poor film quality that was common to betas and VHS tapes of the time,” he said.

Evotum uses a proprietary code employing digital rights management that compresses and streams video over the Internet, allowing high definition playback on PCs, Macs and HD TV. The Evotum player is embedded within the start of the stream without software installs or plug-ins. Once the video has ended the player is deleted.

Epstein joins Evotum with more than 20 years of marketing and sales experience in the adult industry. Her past executive slots have included positions at Private North America, Metro Interactive and Laser Disc Entertainment-DaVid Entertainment, now known as New Frontier Media.

Epstein currently holds a position on the Free Speech Coalition board of directors.

She said that she is “looking forward to working with a company that is clearly ahead of the curve with its revolutionary technology.”

“I know this is the way the industry is heading and I’m excited to be a part of it,” she said.
