Angel, the star of A&E’s “Criss Angel: Mindfreak,” set a world record while he spent 5 hours and 40 minutes suspended on eight hooks above a crowd of onlookers in Times Square in 2002.
Zane, a suspension enthusiast, has been hung up several times, but this is his first attempt at breaking the record. To add an extra degree of difficulty, he plans on being suspended from four hooks, essentially doubling the body weight that must be carried by each hook, compared to Angel’s feat.
"I usually only like creating and attempting new suspensions, so when I decided to top his record I had to do something that made it twice as intense,” Zane said.
The suspension will happen on January 11, at 12 p.m. PST, at the Pleasure Productions booth located on the show floor of the Adult Entertainment Expo, held at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas. Fans will be able to watch Zane and have photos take with him, Pleasure Productions contract star Tera Wray and veteran performer/director Tom Byron.
"This is an amazing way to start off the new year. People have really shown a new interest in my suspension performances within the adult community so I thought this would be a great way to bring it up close and personal,” he said. “Not only do people get to see it with their own eyes they get to take pictures and be a part of history."
According to Zane, he is planning the stunt in two segments, hoping to make it to the three hour mark and then hang for an additional three hours, beating Angel’s record by 20 minutes.
Zane also will release his latest title, “Punkd Ur Ass 2” on Jan 8th. See trailer here.
