The spacious two-level concert venue attracted a diverse crowd — from gyrating strippers to stately Europeans in bespoke suits — and it was easy to tell that everyone was in a festive mood, though no spiked egg nog could be found.
Spearmint Rhino Chairman and CEO John Gray was in a particularly jolly mood, telling XBIZ that 2007 surpassed his expectations. The company made noise in the adult video industry when it merged with Ninn Worx in July.
“I’d like to thank everyone for coming out to celebrate,” Gray said. “I’m having a great time and I’d like to thank our employees, from the doormen to the dancers, for making Spearmint Rhino the best gentlemen’s club out there. Bring on 2008.”
A live funk band kicked the party into full gear with a pounding bassline that had attendees shaking their moneymakers to the loud thump. Go-go dancers, in addition to a dozen or so Rhino dancers, packed the stage, bringing the evening to a resoundingly satisfying climax.
Spotted among the revelers was rising adult star Jenny Hendrix who was celebrating the holidays in addition to today’s release of her star vehicle from Evil Angel, “The Jenny Hendrix Anal Experience.”
A short awards presentation honored the general manager and SR club of the year.
Partygoers included Crazy Town’s Shifty Shellshock, Sandee Westgate, Alexis Amore, Brea Bennett, director Michael Ninn and Derrick Pierce.
