The expo, called E3 for short, is expected to attract nearly 70,000 media and industry professionals who will sample the next generation of game consoles, titles and gadgets being unveiled in more than 540,000 square feet of space in all five halls of the Convention Center.
More than 400 exhibitors from 87 countries have spent about $3 a square foot to rent booth space, many doubling in size from last year, according to organizer ESA. The event, however, is closed to the public.
E3 serves as a litmus test for products and buyers from major retailers that use the event to shape their game plan for the holiday season, when most sales occur.
The big draw at E3 this year is a Sony entry. The Japanese electronics maker offered the first glimpse of its hotly anticipated PlayStation 3 console on Monday, which it expects to release in Spring 2006.
On Tuesday, Nintendo Co. Ltd. unveiled a smaller version of its portable Game Boy videogame player — Game Boy Micro — and said its next-generation home console will be released in 2006.
Launched last month, Club Jenna’s “VirtuallyJenna” stars Jenna Jameson and co-stars Club Jenna and Vivid content models.
Developed by Vancouver, Canada-based XStream3D Multimedia, “VirtuallyJenna” allows users to direct simulated sex with the models — girl-girl or girl-boy. Not only can players dress (or undress) the models, but they can pan and move around a room, do facial cum shots and zoom in on renderings of genitals.
Whether gamers decide on levels of softcore or hardcore, the goal is the same — make Jenna’s arousal level top off until she has an orgasm, with or without sex toys.
“Jenna is the central figure and star in her own virtual universe,” XStream3D developer Brad Abram said. “It’s like being there and being able to create your own movie.”
Favorite gaming moments can be saved in a private digital snapshot image gallery, and later this year XStream3D plans to roll out options that let users put images of themselves and even their names in the game.
“VirtuallyJenna” software, which is planned to be updated monthly, is available online only for PCs running most Windows platforms. For online adult consumers, a three-day trial membership is $9.95, then $29.95 recurring every 30 days.
Club Jenna plans to offer an affiliate program for webmasters through Fakesexrealmoney.com shortly, the company said.
“VirtuallyJenna” is among several other adult-inspired games to be shown at this year’s E3. Last year, Playboy and Arush Entertainment introduced “Playboy: The Mansion” at E3.
