Strand Films is home to director Remington Steele, well known in Europe for his wall-to-wall titles such as “Hot Cut” and “Dr. Blue’s Slut Hunt.”
The deal represents the first time many of Strand Films’ titles will be available in the United States.
“Over the years, we have had many offers to distribute in America, but we wanted to wait until we found the right company to do our products justice,” Steele said. “We hope the American people will enjoy our quality offerings from Europe.”
Black Widow, the American distributor of European lines like “German Goo Girls” and producer of stateside fare like “José Pusher’s Pimping Adventures,” recently signed its first contract performer, 19-year-old Dane Malou.
The company claims contacts in 42 countries and already distributes a number of European series in the United States., including England’s “British Lesbians Pissing,” “UK Student House” and “Kinky Wrinkly,” which follows the adventures of a London man in his 70s as he seduces younger women.
In addition to adult videos, Black Widow also co-brands a toy line with Denmark-based Dansex Productions.
Among the recent flurry of activity, the company announced plans for six more domestic lines in its hardcore niche, as well as continued cultivation of European producers for distribution here.
