According to Ragan, the addition of what he said is the U.K.’s leading producer of non-condom content, is the first of several new studios that will be added to the roster for 2008.
“We're really looking to make a serious dent over the next few months with some very special surprises yet to come starting with this line from Entice,” Ragan said. “After reviewing the content, I’m convinced that this line is going to turn very nice profits for the bookstores and become the highest grossing films out of the U.K.”
Primarily distributed in online and mobile formats in Europe, Entice Male now has expanded into the DVD market.
“We started filming early in 2007. All our content was shot in high quality as we distribute it online and on mobile/cell in Europe,” Entice Male Managing Director Dean O’Neill said.
“After we went to No. 1 for two weeks on StrictlyGayMovies, and Top 5 for three weeks on GayHotMovies, we were approached by multiple distributors both in Europe and North America. This led us to the decision we had to make this content available on DVD. We went with All Boys for North America as they seemed to understand both us and what we wanted to achieve in the region,” he said.
The first release under the new deal will be “British Lads Bareback — London Lads,” which will ship on Dec. 20, with plans for the studio to release another seven titles in North America in 2008.
Due to recent controversy in the U.K. with a gay bareback studio that reportedly was involved in an incident where three performers contracted HIV, both Ragan and O’Neill wanted to be perfectly clear on their protocol concerning healthcare issues.
“In Europe, other studios have had problems with rumours of HIV infection on set. We work with everyone involved in the filming process to make sure bareback is done as safely as possible,” O’Neill said. “All our models are tested negative before they shoot, and we have a strict process where no models actively involved in projects are allowed unsafe sex outside the studio. Anyone who breach these rules is instantly removed from our setup.”
Ragan emphasized the point and said that all the studios under the All Boys’ umbrella, to his knowledge, had strictly enforced standards regarding healthcare and the well being of performers.
“I need to go on record to say that me and my company would not represent any company that would knowingly infect any model with any STD — HIV, gonorrhoea, herpes or whatever it is,” Ragan told XBIZ. “Any company that would knowingly do that would knowingly do that would be immediately discontinued from the All Boys Distribution family of studios. And I would make goddamn good and sure that every site, including yours, would know about it first hand from me.”
Ragan noted the emerging trend with non-condom gay studios, to requires tests for performers as well as disclosure of what performers should expect on-set.
“The studios that I represent absolutely, 100 percent make sure that their models are very well-informed and protected before they do anything. Each studio makes sure that the models know exactly what they’re doing — the kind of scene they’re doing and the model they’ll be doing it with,” Ragan said.
