Goodman, who rode a wave of praise for his efforts to revitalize Las Vegas’ downtown area to a landslide victory for reelection, made history as the first politician to fill in as Celebrity Guest Photographer for the website.
Goodman’s pictorial features Miss January 2001 Irina Voronina posing in the Palms Hotel & Casino’s posh Hugh Hefner suite.
“I had a great time shooting this pictorial for Playboy.com,” Goodman said. “Personally, I have always been a fan of Playboy and the way they celebrate and honor the beauty of women. It was a wonderful experience, and I learned a great deal about photography, too. Only in Las Vegas, folks.”
Goodman is a former mafia lawyer who played himself in the Martin Scorsese film “Casino.” His no-nonsense, tell-it-like-it-is style helped him capture 86 percent of the vote during his re-election efforts.
The shoot, as well as behind-the-scenes photographs, is slated for posting on Playboy.com’s subscription site, Playboy Cyber Club, beginning May 16.
The site also has hosted pictorials by celebrities such as hip-hop artists Nelly, DMX, and Ja Rule, race-car driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., rocker Tommy Lee and pinup-girl Carmen Electra.
