Raging Stallion Vice President Kent Taylor said the company first released the Michael Brandon-molded dildo in 2004 packaged in a box, and though the product sold well, Taylor believed it was solely because of Brandon's stardom.
"We were never thrilled with the box packaging," Taylor said, "so when we released the François Sagat [dildo], went back to packaging drawing board."
Taylor said the company frequented various adult stores to see what kinds of displays and packaging looked the most appealing and available, and in the end decided to use a plastic clamshell package with both hanging and stand-up capability, giving storeowners options for display.
"We decided to simplify it and keep it really slick," Taylor said. "The response from the few stores that have taken it in like it much better; it's easier to work with."
Both dildos are made of medical-grade polyvinyl chloride, aka PVC, and are made from exact molds of stars Brandon and Sagat. Brandon's dildo also comes with a small tube of ID Lube, a product that Taylor said Brandon rarely works without.
"He does work with the company," Taylor said. "There's no other lube allowed on his set [when directing]."
Taylor said the company is preparing to distribute the Raging Stallion line of dildos before the end of the year using its own distribution channels.
