Sponsored by the title sponsors Badpuppy, Channel One Releasing, Cybersocket, Netbilling and Video Secrets, the party ran well into the night and the better part of Sunday morning. It was a fitting close to an informative weekend.
The Retreat offered attendees an opportunity to rub elbows with the best and brightest in the gay webmaster community.
Director Lucas Kazan, of Lucas Kazan Productions, found several of the seminars worthwhile.
“I even brought my webmaster to get a few pointers,” he said.
Award-winning gay adult performer Jeremy Hall also brought his webmaster.
“This is where the world is headed,” Hall said. “The online community is a terrific way to get my name even further out there - and how to market it to a whole new viewing audience.”
With mixers at the Renaissance pool each day after the seminars concluded, attendees had more opportunity to press the flesh and make valuable connections.
Thursday night, Cybersocket sponsored a “Kick Off” party. Held at Rage nightclub in West Hollywood, the site of the 5th Annual GayVN Awards ceremony, shuttle buses transported attendees to and from the nightclub. DJ Val Scinto spun hot tunes until close, with alcohol and business cards flowing.
Friday night, Epoch hosted an “Aphrodisiac Party” at Level 3 Nightclub, located in the Hollywood/Highland shopping complex. The party gave Retreat-goers yet another opportunity to “get to know each other.”
As extra incentive to consume more alcohol, sexy, half-naked Buddy Profits “representatives” handed out complimentary drink tickets to seminar attendees.
Overall, the Retreat had something to offer everyone - from the inexperienced, beginner webmaster to the web expert.
