QueerClick.com Debuts New Blog Competition

LOS ANGELES — Gay blog site QueerClick.com is debuting a new competition to coincide with their 2nd Annual Gay Bloggie Awards: a Blog Battle.

Taking on the popular form of reality entertainment, the 12 strongest contestants — chosen by fans — will begin blogging together starting Nov. 1. Contestants will be given several topics, tasks and categories to blog about.

Each week, several contestants will be “logged off” by popular vote until the last blogger stands.

Nominations will be accepted on the GayBloggies.com site starting today and will close at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday.

Winners will be announced online on Nov. 30.

The Blog Battle is sponsored by, among others: RandyBlue.com , CollegeDudes247.com, SeanCody.com and FirstAuditions.com.

Details of prizes will be announced after the Nomination Phase, but this year the cash and prizes total more than $7,000.00.

QueerClick.com began blogging in late 2004. Last year, in celebration of their second birthday, QueerClick.com created the Gay Bloggies, the “gayest blogging competition in the world.” Inspired by the mainstream Bloggies: Weblog Awards, QueerClick.com decided to come up with one specifically aimed at the gay community.

The Gay Bloggies consist of more than 25 categories including Best Podcast, Best New Blog, Best Topical Blog and Sexiest Queer Candy.

“We are so excited to have our first Blog Battle,” said Brandon Ashley, QueerClick’s Director of Marketing. “We are looking forward to some stiff competition — in the good way!”
