Avant-garde adult director Joe Gallant will be in Berlin, for two screenings of his “Ave X,” produced by Hustler/VCA . Gallant has garnered somewhat of a cult following for his work with various studios, as well as films produced for his own Black Mirror Productions, based out of New York City.
“Ave X is a sci-fi/political-experimental XXX film, made for Hustler/VCA and based on my first NYC cable series, called “Black Mirror.” It’s likely the best and smartest thing I've done so far, certainly among the top three of my films. It’s a febrile, hot, psychedelic ride through the near future of Bush America,” Gallant told XBIZ.
Gallant also is showing a short film, titled “A Bowl of Oatmeal,” and a scene from his unreleased “Atomic Skull Fuck Orgy” has been entered into the fest’s short films competition.
“Ave X” will screen on Thursday and Sunday at the Eiszeit Kino Theatre, located at Zeughofstrasse 20, in Berlin. Gallant also is scheduled to speak on the Creativity in Mainstream Porn panel on Sunday.
“It is very exciting for us at Hustler to see this film shown on the big screen. I believe 'Ave X' is appealing to a segment of the Euro audiences for sure; certainly it will be appealing to those attending the porn fest,” Hustler Europe’s Jeff Hawkins told XBIZ.
“I believe Euros like diversity in their porn. Hustler Video gives the consumers here in Europe just that. As you know we provide many different types of content. Some of the titles that have done well over here are “Aphrodisiac,” “Kill Jill” and “Da Vinci Load.” Our 'Hustler Hardcore Vault' series and 'Hardline' movies also do well, and of course so does 'Barely Legal,'” Hawkins said.
Hustler/VCA’s “Joanna’s Angels” directed by BurningAngel.com’s Joanna Angel also will be screened at the fest.
Adult production company Adam & Eve will have two titles screening at the fest. Venus Hottentot’s “Afrodite Superstar” produced for Candida Royalle’s Femme Chocolat line will be shown, as well as Audacia Ray’s “Bi-Apple.”
Ray will be attending the fest and will speak on the Good Porn for Good Girls panel.
U.S. adult studio Digital Playground also will be featured at the fest with a screening of “Pirates.”
Screenings showcasing adult classics themes include 1976’s “The Opening of Misty Beethoven” and 1998 documentary “Wadd: The Life & Times of John Holmes.”
Newbie lesbian adult production company GoodDykePorn.com also will present a video short titled “Good Dyke Porn,” which has screened at several erotic film festivals.
“Llik Your Idols,” the 69-minute documentary on the Cinema of Transgression art film scene that evolved out of the New York “No Wave” scene of the ‘80s and features underground filmmakers Richard Kern, Lydia Lunch, Joe Coleman and Nick Zedd, will be shown at the fest on Saturday.
