Starr, a feature dancer and adult performer for ten years, released about 130 titles before purchasing fetish-oriented Mother’s Productions and its catalog in 2003. Starr Productions has since controlled distribution of Mother’s products as well as released several big breast-centric comedies of its own, including “Busted” and “Porn Stars from Mars.”
The “Faster, Pussycat!” update features Starr and Starr Productions’ contract performer Summer Cummings, as well as a non-nudity appearance by the iconic Kitten Natividad, star of several Meyer films. The movie was shot over three days in the Mojave Desert.
The original “Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!” was released in 1965. Meyer had been producing or photographing campy erotica for over 15 years prior to “Pussycat,” which cemented his reputation. He died last year.
Starr’s Hollywood facility serves as its administrative offices, warehouse and studio, SP’s Brad Spitt told XBiz. The company has continued some of Mother’s fetish lines, including “Nurse Link” as well as “Lady Ass Lickers.” “We believe in Elizabeth’s vision,” Spitt said, “and we’re here to stay.” Starr did not require permission from the Meyer estate to make the “Pussycat” update, Spitt said.
Another film with the same title as Starr’s was released in 2001. It was an amateur title from Homegrown Video.
