The Colorado-based company, which already provides DirecTV with TEN*Clips and Real, signed a new two-year deal with the satellite provider last week.
The move is a coup for New Frontier as more adult programming companies fight for shelf space. DirecTV currently offers several adult programming services, including Playboy TV, ClubJenna, Spice:Xcess and Hustler TV on a pay-per-view or monthly subscription basis.
New Frontier counts DirecTV as one of its largest customers, which contributes nearly 12 percent of its net income.
While New Frontier executives did not comment further to XBIZ, it’s the second announcement in the past three weeks that have further elevated the company.
New Frontier last month inked a $10 million deal with Penthouse magazine to develop Penthouse TV, which is expected to help further distinguish the brand from its chief competitor, Playboy Enterprises and its Playboy-branded channels.
“We're going to be able to give Playboy TV a real run for their money," New Frontier President Ken Boenish said at the time.
The company expects Penthouse-branded VOD content on TV within the next six months, and the Penthouse TV linear channel is slated to launch within two years.
