The four-hour-plus, two-disc set was shot using a high-definition Sony Varicam and is presented in true anamorphic widescreen. The movie was filmed in Berlin at S & M clubs.
“We had a huge budget for the original ‘Fashionistas,’ and the budget for the 'Safado' story turned out to be just as big,” Evil Angel publicist Karen Stagliano told XBIZ. “But instead of all the money that we spent on film stock and telecine, a lot of that went into bigger, better locations, a bigger cast, and of course wardrobe and sets.”
“Fashionistas Safado: Berlin” wraps up lingering plot questions.
The movie opens with Antonio (Rocco Siffredi) traveling to Berlin following his compulsion to explore and discover more about the S & M world of Safado (Nacho Vidal). He follows the intriguing Violet (Katsumi), trying to learn more about her, while learning a lot about himself and his sexuality in the process. Jesse (Belladonna) watches Antonio's progression from afar. Lauren (Melissa Lauren) and Safado challenge each other in an intense coupling, while Antonio pushes himself in a scene with four dominating females.
“This week, when discs came in and the menus were wrong because the anamorphic settings switched back to default in the authoring computers, John and I both cried,” Karen Stagliano said. “So it got sent back to authoring, we pulled all-nighters checking new proofs and product, and now it's the way it was meant to be.
“This movie has meant so much to [John] for a really long time. I lost track of how many hours he spent editing and scoring and making this movie. I'm happy that he spent all that time on it, but I'm going to be happy to have my husband back until he starts on his next feature, whatever that will end up being.”
“Fashionistas Safado: Berlin” stars Rocco Siffredi, Nacho Vidal, Katsumi, Belladonna, Melissa Lauren, Annette Schwarz, Judith Fox, Sintia Stone and Vanessa Hill.
