“Flawless” hit stores on Friday. National Sales Director for Vivid and Teravison David Peskin said response and pre-order for the movie have been “tremendous.”
“Tera’s numbers continue to remain strong and I believe that she’s the number one active adult star today, and I’m sure that every distributor and retailer will agree,” Peskin told XBIZ.
At this weekend’s Adultcon, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the Teravision booth was selling of copies of “Flawless” alongside other Teravision products.
Patrick’s rocker husband Evan Seinfeld, who performs under stage name Spyder Jonez in the movie, said that though most of Teravision’s titles are based on a vignette-style format, once or twice a year they also will release a plot-driven feature.
“We try to switch it up because Tera has so many different kinds of fans. They are young, old, black, Mexican, white, women,” Seinfeld told XBIZ. “I think that ‘Flawless’ is one of those movies geared towards women — not that guys won’t like it, but that it’s very pretty.
“We put out all kinds of Tera movies — just sex movies, like ‘Teradise Island’ with amazing locations and hot sex. We put out ‘Reign of Tera’ which is like a featurette with very little dialogue and mostly all sex. But then we do stuff like this every once in awhile, for the couples that like features and want a lot of story. It’s very cerebral and gets in your head, and you feel like you know the characters, as opposed to a lot of the reality-based stuff that we shoot,” Seinfeld said.
The plot of the movie revolves around Patrick’s character, a young woman who is engaged to be married with a huge diamond ring and the trouble that ensues because of the giant rock.
“I play a cat burglar who’s doing a little switcheroo. Cherokee plays an evil maven, and there’s an amazing cameo from Jackie Beat who plays a talk show host — that is so funny, it steals the show,” Seinfeld said. “There are some great performances in this movie.”
The cast includes Cherokee, Felecia, Johnny Sins, Kimberly Kane, Mason Storm, Mick Blue, Peter Shaft, Seth Dickens, Spyder Jonez, with the special cameo appearance by Jackie Beat.
“Actually, we did ‘Flawless’ around the same time that we shot ‘Tera, Tera, Tera’ and my first girl/girl scene was in ‘Tera, Tera, Tera’ with Savanna, and my second girl/girl scene ever was with Felicia in ‘Flawless,’” Patrick told XBIZ. “I personally picked Felecia because I really wanted to work with her. I had a crush on her.
“And Chi Chi was so excited; he’s like, ‘I have a crush on her, too! I’m going to vicariously live through you while you fuck her,’” Patrick said.
Working with LaRue was a career highlight, Patrick said, especially the fact that the prolific drag queen director was able to coax great performances out of the cast.
“It was really fun. You could just watch the dialogue because it’s so hysterical,” Patrick said. “The acting was really fun.
“Cherokee plays the maven and she did such a great job, in my opinion, she gave it her all. She showed up that morning — because we had hired another actress that ended up flaking on us — but we called Cherokee. She came right down; she was a good sport and she fucked like it was her last night on earth, and I was like, ‘Damn! I could learn something from her,’” Patrick said.
“It’s bedazzling,” Seinfeld said, “and Tera is so beautiful in the movie. We did all this diamond-esque beauty shots with her that are so breathtaking. Tera is like a walking diamond.”
