Hardlove traveled with Starr, the president of Fans of Dex, to promote "Cubbyholes: Trans Men in Action," Trannywood’s first film, and to meet fans.
The day before the conference started, Babeland Seattle hosted a special screening of "Cubbyholes" and included a sneak peak of "Couch Surfers: Trans Men in Action," Trannywood's next feature. The rest of the conference found Hardlove and Starr staffing the Trannywood Pictures table, attending workshops, signing autographs, selling DVDs and attending the party.
Trannywood Pictures is celebrating its first year of production as well as adding its 21st retail location, Pride and Joy in Northampton, Mass. Trannywood's second film, "Couch Surfers: Trans Men in Action," has moved to postproduction soundtrack work followed by replication. Expected release is the end of the year.
Soon after the release of "Couch Surfers" will be "Couch Surfers 2," featuring one-on-one action between the stars of "Cubbyholes" and "Couch Surfers." A fourth feature is in development with expected shooting of preliminary scenes at the end of October.
Trannywood Pictures expects to have a presence at the Tran Health Conference in Philadelphia in the spring, showcasing its movies and safe-sex material geared toward trans men and those who play with them.
