Stockroom Marketing Director Allain Rochel told XBIZ that the store will serve more than one function, and having a store so close to headquarters will make ordering products easier for online customers.
"We're working on ways for customers in the area to avoid shipping charges by placing orders and picking them up, as well as being able to chat with someone in customer service," Rochel said.
Rochel also said the area is accessible by three major MTA lines.
The store will be used for wholesale, as well as to better establish the many brands Stockroom owns, including Kinklab, Stormy Leather, Syren Latex, Daedalus Publishing and Syren Couture — and with Stockroom's Latex Production Manager, Jeff of L.A., onsite, Rochel said customers can much easier be fitted for their custom-made original latex designs.
Stockroom retail will be open and ready for business Oct. 19 and soon will launch the Stockroom University Carnal Knowledge series, a variation of Syren University, located at Syren latex's former retail store. The first session, called "Kink Outside the Box," will be hosted by Midori in early December.
“It’s absolutely our intention to provide a provocative, aesthetically appealing and community building venue,” Rochel said. “While we love serving such a vast customer base via the web, we’re all looking forward to taking our work to the street as it were, and being much more active on the local level.”
