Evil Angel publicist Karen Stagliano told XBIZ that the Prime Evil line would consist of “movies we consider to be special. It’s basically our version of a feature movie — some type of storyline and dialogue, better than typical gonzo production values and bigger budgets.”
The studio’s Prime Evil branding extends to the physical product as well. All Prime Evil releases come in a slick cardboard O-sleeve with a foil-embossed logo. Stagliano said that the new packaging creates a fresh identity for Evil Angel product among both retailers and consumers.
Prime Evil is the brainchild of Evil Angel owner John Stagliano and General Manager Chris Norman. Movies selected to the Prime Evil line won’t follow a regular monthly schedule; they will be selected by the company whenever appropriate.
Also part of the Prime Evil line and releasing this month is Justin Slayer’s “Merc,” John Leslie’s “Brianna Love: Her Fine Sexy Self,” and John Stagliano’s “The Fashionistas Safado: Berlin,” which completes the epic trilogy.
“Basically, the whole package is different,” Stagliano said, “even down to the DVD authoring and menus. This is our way of letting retail customers know about our feature movies while creating a brand identity within the marketplace.”
