“I was primarily focusing on some of the big key accounts before, with an emphasis on Private,” Rix told XBIZ. “But now, I’m repping all of our studios and all our accounts. It’s cool. I’m excited about it.”
He now will oversee sales and marketing for Pure Play’s roster of studios including Private Media Group, Homegrown Video, Seymore Butts, Naughty America, Score, Silver Sinema, Swank, Hundies, Suze Randall and Asia Bootleg, as well as all customer accounts.
“At this point, the primary focus is to keep doing what we’ve been doing. Picking up Homegrown this summer was a big coup for us and helped us expand tremendously,” Rix said. “With labels like Homegrown, Private, Naughty America and Score, I’ve got plenty to keep me busy.”
Rix spent 18 years working in the music industry before relocating to L.A. two years ago and pursuing a career in the adult industry. Both he and industry publicist Brian Gross worked for Elektra Records, so when Rix moved to the West Coast, it was Gross that helped him make the connections in adult.
After stints at Elegant Angel and as sales and marketing director for Danni.com, Rix landed at Pure Play.
“I liked music, but the music business has been drying up faster than the weather around here lately. Jobs were dwindling, few and far between, and I thought, ‘Let’s see what type of world could I see myself existing in. Ah-ha — adult,’” Rix said.
