‘Barely Legal’ Celebrates 75th Release

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — “Barely Legal,” the video series that’s become a household name is turning 75. Hustler Video is releasing the legendary series’ 75th volume on Sept. 25.

The Barely Legal imprint launched in 1994 as a sister publication to Hustler magazine. Clive McClean began the video series in 1999 and wrote and directed every episode until his passing in 2005. McClean’s widow, Erica McClean, continues the series in Clive’s vision.

“We are always trying to improve and grow,” Erica McLean said. “But it’s important to stay true to Clive’s vision. The fans expect that. The loyalty shown for this brand is unlike any other in the adult industry.”

Participating in the special shoot for Barely Legal’s landmark edition rubs off on the stars too.

“‘Barely Legal’ was such a fun shoot,” Jenny Hendrix, who stars in and appears on the box cover of “Barely Legal 75,” told XBIZ. “To be a part of such a legendary series was something special. All the girls had a great time and Erica was awesome to work with. Congrats on number 75. That’s huge!”

“Barely Legal 75” stars Aurora, McKenzee Miles, Alexandra, Alexis Love, Faye Runaway and Hendrix. Included in the two-disc collectors’ edition is a special “Barely Legal” documentary, “The Birth of a Phenomenon.”

“The Birth of a Phenomenon” focuses on the legacy of Clive McLean. Some of the biggest players in the adult industry are featured in the documentary, including Larry Flynt, Tera Patrick, Suze Randall, Jenna Haze, Belladonna, Kimberly Kane and Nick Manning.

“‘Barely Legal’ is without a doubt our best-selling line and the most consistent selling series out there,” Hustler National Sales Manager David Diamond said. “I can’t think of another series that has been around longer or that performs better.”
