"We want to continue taking down boundaries within our community, to help Spartacus enter a more mainstream market both at home and abroad," Bergquist said.
Spartacus Sales and Marketing Manager Sean Christensen agreed, adding that in today's market, adult shops are realizing a need for stocking fetish-oriented toys, such as nipple clamps and restraints.
"These things are no longer too out there for mainstream adult retailers to carry," Christensen said. "This was not the case 20 years ago. We are very fortunate to occupy an adult niche that seems to be growing especially fast."
Spartacus representatives officially celebrated the company's anniversary at the 2007 AVN Novelty Expo, where the team partied with retailers, buyers and industry friends.
Spartacus Vice President Laurie Bergquist told XBIZ that Spartacus spent its first decade building its reputation for quality and consistency, and after spending the following 10 years perfecting its products and brand name, she's ready to start a third decade strongly.
"For decade number three we plan to continue perfecting our packaging and coming up with innovative and original ideas to help fulfill people's fantasies," Bergquist said.
Spartacus was founded in 1987 by Albert Bedrosian with a line of metal nipple clamps. Rubber, metal and leather goods soon followed, and eventually Spartacus Enterprises was born.
