Hot House Entertainment issued a formal statement this afternoon that said, “Hot House Entertainment announced today it had learned that Lifetime Exclusive and dear friend Kent North died on July 4th of an apparent drug overdose.
“We are all shocked and deeply saddened,” said Hot House President Steven Scarborough. “Our deepest sympathy goes out to Kent’s friends and family, especially his lover Lloyd.”
North, who had an exclusive contract with the studio, recently won accolades at this year’s GAYVN Awards and Gay Chicago magazine’s Grabby Awards for Best Solo Performance in Hot House title “At Your Service.”
No details had been released as of press time. The front page of North’s website showed only a portrait of the performer with text reading “In Memoriam: 27 December 1972 – 04 July 2007.”
“Kent became part of the Hot House family in 2004 when he debuted in “Handpacked III: Jampacked,”’ the studio’s statement read. “He was immediately signed to an exclusive contract and went on to star in 13 additional titles, including “At Your Service” where he earned trophies for Best Solo Performance at both the 2007 GAYVN and Grabby Awards. Kent's stature as a huge industry star was further recognized this year with an invitation to co-host the 2007 Grabby Awards in Chicago.
“In addition to being a consummate, award-winning performer, Kent and his lover Lloyd joined Hot House for several high-profile events every year including International Mister Leather and the Folsom Street Fair,” the statement continued. “Kent often made appearances in his role as a Hot House Exclusive throughout Europe. He was always eager to pose for photos and extend his kindness to everyone who approached him. Kent loved his fans as much as they loved him and during events he was always the last model to finish signing.
“A graduate with honors from the Royal Naval Academy, Kent displayed gentlemanly grace and charm at all times. His well-mannered English demeanor was enhanced by a wicked sense of humor and a devilish grin. Kent's warmth and genuine kindness will be missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.”
Anyone wishing to send cards or condolences to his lover Lloyd should address them to Hot House Entertainment, 1433 17th Street, San Francisco, CA 94107.
North’s complete videography for the Hot House includes “Handpacked III: Jampacked,” “The Hard Way,” “Mischief,” “Twisted,” “The Missing,” “At Your Service,” “Pack Attack 1: Kent North,” “Justice,” “Black -N- Blue,” “Slam Dunk,” “Mister Fister,” “Private Lowlife” and “Communion.”
Kent had also just finished shooting the soon-to-be-released Club Inferno feature “Knuckle Sandwich.”
