Written, directed and produced by Roy Karch, the movie offers all the scandal, back-biting and lust viewers have come to expect each Sunday at 9 p.m., but adds one big twist.
“With our show, you get to see all of the dirty and wild sex that these women are lusting for,” Karch said. “I thought, wow, this is kind of wild, and wouldn’t it be amazing to take these hot housewives to the next level by showing all of their situations and scandalous behavior, but letting us see them fucking really hard.”
Fans of the show will recognize all their favorite characters, including the dead neighbor who narrates each episode, played by adult legend Sharon Kane in a non-sex role.
“The movie opens with her brains being washed off the curb,” Karch told XBiz. “I don’t want to give away the ending, but the movie shows what drives her mad.”
Karch said casting the movie was a bit more difficult than it is for most adult movies because the performers “needed to be able to act and have some resemblance to the real people.”
Fortunately, he found some dead ringers.
“Nicole Sheridan plays the Nicolette Sheridan character, so that was a no-brainer,” Karch said. “The Teri Hatcher character is played by Shy Love, and Audrey Hollander plays the red-head [Marcia Cross’s character]. Otto [Bauer] plays her shrink, and he does home visits. Mika Brown plays the Latin girl [Eva Longoria’s character].” Nicki Hunter rounds out the cast as the fifth female lead.
Karch told XBiz that he and Sex Z Pictures owner Bo Kenney came up with the idea for the parody one afternoon and ran with it.
“I watch the show; I’m a TV guy,” Karch said. “It’s a smash hit, and Bo said, ‘We should do something with this,’ and I thought, ‘Of course we should.’”
“I knew that this was a winning formula from the start,” Kenney said, “and I gave Roy the green light to jump to it and bring this title to our customers as quickly as possible.”
Karch said he thinks ‘Desperate Wives’ may be his best movie to date and that the idea has enough legs to support a sequel.
“We’ve already started to think about part two,” he told XBiz, adding that nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but the next installment in the series might be ready in time for the Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas.
