Bryan Postlethwait, vice president of programming and promotions for New Frontier’s The Erotic Networks (TEN) division said it is “an integrated content and marketing relationship — much more than a broadcast distribution deal.”
New Frontier, which relies on video-on-demand for 36 percent of its business, is attempting to expand its audience by targeting a younger adult demographic.
“It is time to reach out to that audience and capitalize on our brand synergy,” Postlethwait said.
Van Nuys, Calif.-based Shane’s World is one of the few studios that have been able to crossover successfully — if slightly — into mainstream. The studio, owned by Jennie Grant, is best known for its “College Invasion” reality series that hooks up adult content with real college students.
New Frontier delivers adult programming to 63 million viewers over cable, satellite and VOD. The Boulder, Colo.-based broadcaster owns TEN, which includes Pleasure and seven of its TEN-branded specialty channels. It also offers streaming media via its website, Ten.com.
