WantedList.com and Red Light Launch Porn-Naming Contest

CHATSWORTH, Calif. –In search of the perfect porn title, Red Light District and WantedList.com have teamed to co-sponsor a contest for the best porn title in the same league as other well-known Red Light titles such as "1 Night in Paris."

Hosted by WantedList, the winner of the "Name a Porno" contest will receive a collection of 100 Red Light District DVDs, and the chosen title will be used for a Red Light video series.

WantedList co-founder Anh Tran told XBiz that the contest gives adult entertainment fans a chance to participate in the adult business, while at the same time poking fun at porn.

"We've done so many of these and it's usually just for the fun of it," Tran said. "But it also promotes both our company and Red Light in a positive and fun manner by bringing porn to consumers in a different way."

On the user level, anyone visiting the "Fun and Games" page of WantedList's website can participate in the contest by submitting contact information and their chosen title, under the condition that all titles be completely original. Contest participants are also asked in the Terms and Conditions section to waive any and all rights to the title.

From a webmaster level, the contest can be promoted through banners, and according to Dennis Consorte, director of affiliate marketing for SpankBank.com, WantedList’s affiliate program, previous contests have been a very lucrative source of traffic for webmasters.

"We've already gotten some really great titles and a lot of submissions," Tran said, adding that the contest will run until April 30. Red Light also will have the rights to use other title submissions.

“When Anh approached me about the contest I thought ‘Wow, what a great move.’ How could we not be a part of this,” David Joseph, owner of Red Light District, said. “We are really looking forward to the responses that this contest generates.”
