Working under the pseudonym "The Twin," Boy George has teamed with New York-based Lucas Entertainment in his first-ever musical involvement with an adult video.
"Manhattan Heat" was released on Jan. 29 and is part of an ongoing series of Manhattan-based gay porn videos that are produced and distributed by Lucas Entertainment. The company is also known for its Fire Island series, which is currently in its six installment.
According to Bryan Christopher of Lucas Entertainment, Boy George contributed several electronic dance tracks to the project after meeting company owner Michael Lucas and becoming fast friends. At the time, Boy George was starring in the Broadway show "Taboo," for which he received a Tony nomination.
"I've known Boy George for quite some time now," Lucas said. "And I've been a fan for even longer. I'm so happy that we finally found a way to collaborate, especially since this is my biggest production ever."
Lucas formerly worked for The Falcon Family of Companies.
According to Lucas, Boy George's musical contributions will only be used to enhance the film's storyline and will not be used during sex scenes. The film stars Wilfried Knight, Erik Grant and Michael Lucas, and was written and edited by Tony Dimarco.
"Manhattan Heat" is Lucas Entertainment's 29th video release after getting its start in 1998 as a three-person company. According to Christopher, the company has grown in "leaps and bounds" over the past three years to a 12-member staff and now distributes nationally through its Lucas Distribution division. Lucas also distribute titles from Lucas Kazan and Titan.
Christopher added that there might be additional projects with Boy George in the future.
