TopBucks Phases Out OneVerify AVS Program

TUCSON – TopBucks announced Tuesday that it will officially begin phasing out its AVS affiliate program OneVerify, leaving an even more pared down AVS landscape than ever before.

On a GFY posting, Tucson, Arizona-based TopBucks stated that by Dec. 31, webmasters must remove any links promoting the OneVerify website, and by Jan. 1, TopBucks would no longer pay webmasters for traffic sent to OneVerify websites.

TopBucks added that all revenue sharing accounts will continue to be paid on recurring traffic, but not new sales, until the end of March.

The company attributes the closure of OneVerify to low performance and instability of the AVS model, which has suffered under imposed regulations from credit cards companies.

According to Lea Busick, director of marketing for TopBucks, the new credit card regulations prohibit the use of credit cards as a form of age verification and also eliminate the ability to promote access to other adult sites.

"These factors, combined with credit card companies' risk aversion to the AVS/IPSP model, has now resulted in the instability of the AVS model," Busick stated in the posting.

The initial reaction from webmasters was surprise, although many were appreciative that TopBucks had given them fair warning.

TopBucks welcomes webmasters with any question regarding the closure of OneVerify to contact support@topbucks.com.
