Erin Burns, AEBN's senior content executive, told XBiz that 3rd Degree Films caught her eye the first time she heard about "Crack Addict," the company's debut film, and she's been working on a deal with 3rd Degree founder Joey Wilson ever since.
"I met Joey in Berlin and it was just a riot," Burns said. "He knows exactly where he wants to take his business plan and I don't think anything is going to stop him if he keeps on doing things the way he's been doing them."
The Canoga Park, Calif.-based startup launched during the summer, and with eight films so far under its belt, churns out new releases every two to three weeks.
According to AEBN Publicist Michael Gregg, Wilson began his career working with studios to revitalize their video lines and take them to gonzo. Some of his best-known work was on the FusXion line for Metro and Rosebud Video.
"He was given a lot of credit for revitalizing those titles and making them into top sellers," Gregg told XBiz.
In February, Wilson decided to strike out on his own and launch 3rd Degree.
The new studio has released eight titles so far, five of which were directed by contract director Chris Streams. Those titles include “Crack Addict,” “Camelhoes,” “Share The Load” “We All Scream For Ass Cream” and “Don’t Tell My Daddy," all of which are now available at AEBN.com.
Other 3rd Degree films slated to appear at AEBN in the near future will include “What Gets You Off,” “Up’R Class,” “New Releases” and “The Wetter the Better.”
"It wasn't hard to figure out who the next bad-ass studio was going to be," said Burns, adding that already, “Crack Addict" is the third most watched film on AEBN.com for the month of November.
AEBN currently features content from 850 different studios and offers pay-per-minute models, streaming and download options in three different languages.
