“Island Fever 3” was shot in high definition entirely on location in Tahiti and Bora Bora. Tahiti is the main island of French Polynesia, a French overseas territory in the South Pacific that includes 120-plus low-lying atolls and high volcanic islands. Hollywood has made many movies in French Polynesia since the 1920s, including “Mutiny on the Bounty.”
Author James Michener called twin-peaked Bora Bora, which is located 127 miles northwest of Tahiti, “the world’s most beautiful island.”
According to Digital Playground Director of Marketing and Publicity Adella O’Neal, the first two installments in the award-winning and top-selling “Island Fever” series were lensed in Hawaii, primarily at Kauai.
“This is Digital Playground’s first movie made in Tahiti,” O’Neal told XBiz. “ I have no knowledge of any other previous adult production.”
In the 1990s, a softcore title called “Pacific Banana” was shot in French Polynesia.
In addition to the exotic locations featured in “Island Fever 3,” the double disc collectors’ set has a unique technological feature. “The second disc is an HD-DVD, and it plays the entire movie in true high definition, with 1200-line resolution,” said O’Neal. “Most people do not yet own the playback system for HD-DVD, but this is the wave of the future, what we’re gearing up for.”
O’Neal added that there is no additional charge for this bonus HD-DVD disc. The first disc in the set is in regular DVD, and that while it also contains the movie, it includes special features such as behind-the-scenes material.
O’Neal described the content as having no story line. "It is wall-to-wall sex in beautiful locations," Adella said. "And ‘Island Fever 3’ features the first girl/girl scene that Devon and Jesse Jane have ever done together."
“Island Fever 3” will be released Sept. 23.
