Acacia Signs iFilm Corp.

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Furthering its reach into the mainstream entertainment sector, Acacia Technologies Group signed iFilm Corp. Monday, chalking up its digital media transmission technology licensees to 170.

Considered one of the leading online streaming media companies, Hollywood, Calif.-based iFilm comprises the iFilm Network, the Hollywood Creative Directory and Lone Eagle Publishing, which publishes industry trade books.

The iFilm Network offers streaming movies, film and television clips, video-game trailers, music videos and claims to have more than 20 million visitors monthly.

The company has a distribution partnership with Real Networks, Movies.com, WindowsMedia.com and Rotten Tomatoes.

Privately held IFilm's investors include a long list of Hollywood elite, starting with Quincy Jones; Jeff Berg, chairman of ICM; Jim Berkus chairman of United Talent Agency; David Bohnett, founder and CEO of Geocities; Nora Ephron, director and writer; Bruce Spector, former chief of Yahoo Broadband; John Sykes, president of VH1; and Joerg Agin, president of Eastman Kodak Digital.
