Co-written by Neil Strauss, Jameson's new book, titled "How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale," is a steamy memoir of the famous porn star's journey from her days as a drugged-out Las Vegas stripper to becoming a household name as a porn actress and mainstream media darling.
"Hers is a sex, drugs, and rock and roll lifestyle on an epic scale," the book cover boasts. "It makes for wildly entertaining reading."
"How to Make Love Like a Porn Star" reportedly spotlights not only the adult entertainment industry, but Jameson's very own triple-X exploits, along with a collection of exclusive photos, some of which are from her personal scrap book. The book also includes anecdotes on how to become a male porn star, how to date a porn star, and a chapter titled "The Ten Commandments of Love and Sex."
“The following is a true story," Jameson states. "It is more naked than I have ever allowed myself to be seen. Neither my father nor my husband has been privy to these experiences: they have been a burden and a blessing for me to carry alone. Until now. It is a shocking tale, but it is also one of hope and beauty.”
Born Jenna Massoli in 1974, young Jameson joined the adult industry at the age of 17 and quickly became the first contract star for Wicked Pictures. She later formed her own adult production studio, Club Jenna, through her longstanding alliance with Vivid Entertainment Group as a Vivid Girl.
Jameson is married to adult film director Jay Grdina who works under the name Justin Sterling.
Strauss, Jameson's co-writer, was a longtime music critic for The New York Times who was reportedly forced to quit when his editors decided that writing an autobiography on a porn star was not in keeping with the standards of the Times and its employees.
Strauss has authored books on Motley Crue and Marilyn Manson in his spare time.
Editor & Publisher reports that Strauss was interested in Jameson's life story before he even agreed to do the book.
"It's a wild story that will probably change the way everybody looks at her," Strauss was quoted as saying.
On July 16, ReganBooks also released "How to Have a XXX Sex Life: The Ultimate Vivid Guide" written by Vivid Entertainment contract performers Savanna Samson, Sunrise Adams, Jenna Jameson, Briana Banks, Mercedez, Tawny Roberts, and Dasha who all provide inspirational tips and fantasies on their experiences as Vivid Girls.
Vivid calls the book an “alternating frankness with a playful tone that uses a mix of real-life anecdotes and erotic fantasy in a tutorial fashion."
