“We like to create videos that are fun and sexy in an authentic, believable way,” Sparks told XBiz, adding that as a newcomer in the gay adult video world he’s trying to bring a new perspective beyond market leaders Falcon Studios and Titan Media, both based in San Francisco.
AresMen’s first video, “CockTales v.1: The Intruders” is slated for release later this month. It will be priced at $39.95 on its website starting July 14.
Sparks, whose company is based in Seattle, says "amateur"-inspired videos will set his production company apart. The videos will be based on short stories.
“It’s easier to place yourself or your partner into the roles in amateur video,” Sparks says. “But you have to deal with very bad production values, and you get a lot of relatively boring material that you end up fast-forwarding through.
“We've taken a little from the techniques of professional production, and coupled that with the vibrant realism of amateur video to end up with something very exciting,” he said.
In a casting call earlier this year, AresMen was looking for “guys who have not done video” living in the Washington and Montana areas to join its acting team.
“CockTales” features "raw talent" models ranging in age from 19 to 28, each with a different spin on the “boy next door” look, Sparks says.
“We understand that beauty takes a lot of forms, and not just the classic body builder’s over-developed form” Sparks said. “We select models who are naturally handsome. Of course, personality on and off the screen is just as important as pectorals and penis size,” he said.
The production company and distributor plans three to four videos for the rest of the year.
Sparks told XBiz that AresMen is planning launch parties in major metropolitan areas shortly after the first release.
