Emily Oberg Launches 'Sensual Sport' Line of Sexual Wellness Products

LOS ANGELES — Emily Oberg, the entrepreneur behind the successful clothing label Sporty & Rich, has launched Sensual Sport, a new line of sexual wellness products.

Vogue reports that Sensual Sport launched this week with three new tangerine-toned products — an elongated, egg-shaped sex toy named The Essential Vibrator; a lubricant called Pleasure Gel; and Wet Mouth Spray, which is designed to enhance oral pleasure and comes in flavors such as peach, pineapple, and watermelon.

Oberg told Vogue that she started with three products because she "didn't want it to be too intimidating for people who hadn't necessarily bought products like these prior to my brand launching."

While Oberg described the vibrator as "straightforward" and the lubricant as "a universal product," she said she's most excited about the mouth spray.

"I wanted one fun, unique product," she said. "And it's all in my stance that sex shouldn't be taken so seriously."

While Oberg's other ventures are doing quite well — Sporty & Rich reportedly made $34 million in revenue last year — she's fully aware that the sexual wellness market is expected to reach $20 billion per year by 2030.

"I make products I'm personally interested in using, that I feel like I can't find until I make them," Oberg told Vogue.

Oberg said it took just six months to launch Sensual Sport, partly because she knew someone who works for one of America's biggest sex toy manufacturers and gave her a proper education about the wellness product industry.

"It was a full run-through of the market — what was out there, the best-sellers, what's not working," she explained.

For now, Sensual Sport is a "solo venture," as Oberg built the website, designed the packaging, and now sends newsletters in between sorting out shipping logistics for the company. She even starred in the brand's first marketing campaign at launch, though that was more out of necessity.

"Agents just don't want [models] associated with a sex brand," Oberg told Vogue. "Which is funny because everyone is half-naked on Instagram! I'll continue to model for it until people can wrap their heads around what we're doing."
