MONTREAL — Bree Mills is the latest guest on the “Fishnets & Philosophy” podcast, hosted by Mx Bel Morrigan.
In the episode, Mills discusses her rise in the adult film industry, the inspiration behind her storytelling and why she believes exploring diverse areas of sexuality on film is powerful.
“I think that sex and sexuality and sexual identity are some of the most interesting subjects as a writer and as a filmmaker that one could explore," she tells Morrigan. "I’ve always been drawn to that, much more so than the sex itself."
Mills also dives into the artistic and liberating aspects of adult filmmaking, and her appreciation for the lack of censorship.
“For me what has always been so cool about adult filmmaking is that I can tell stories without having to censor myself," she shares. "I like to think of porn films as films, no different than any others, minus the budget — films that include sex in them, so that’s the difference between what we make and what may be shown across theatre chains.”
