LOS ANGELES — Disruptive Films has announced that it has wrapped production on its latest feature, "Honeyguide."
Co-directed by Jessica Jasmin, Siouxsie Q and Michael Vegas, the title stars Hoss Kado and Kam Stone.
"The story centers on Alaric Spence (Kado) and his love for Brooks Dunham (Stone)," said a rep. "Alaric loves Brooks so much that he hates him. He hates him so much that he loves him. He hates that he loves him and loves that he hates him. But above all, he understands that Brooks needs him. Unlike Brooks, Alaric understands how life works and knows what it’s like to work for life. Brooks has had everything handed to him. No matter how hard Alaric tries in life, he’ll never have what classmate has naturally. But Alaric has Brooks. Alaric has Brooks’s trust. He has his ear. And he has the popular guy by the balls. All he has to do is twist. Brooks doesn’t realize that yet. But he will."
Jasmin enthused about Kado's performance.
"Hoss was such a delight to watch," she said. "He went all out with the character and made him his own. He made acting decisions that blew our minds. The final scene was beautiful to watch. We all had shivers behind the monitors. Hoss is such an incredible actor-performer, people are about to lose their mind."
Vegas echoed Jasmin's praise.
"I’m blown away by Hoss Kado's performances throughout this film," he said. "He was perfect for the role and brought it to a whole new level for this movie. The ending sequence is perfection. I can't wait to see the audience's reaction to what we have created."
Added Kado, "It was a pleasure working with such a passionate crew and being able to take on the central role and make it my own has been simply career-changing, at least in mind. Honeyguide is such a dark, yet realistic romance not unlike my real life. It’s easy to play a role when your life feels like the role itself, and I'm definitely not afraid to shock a few people along the way. If love and romance aren't dark, I don't want them! Also pretty sure I legit scared some of the cast on set embracing the role."
"Honeyguide" premieres in June on DisruptiveFilms.
