Malaysian Creator HotDaddy Arrested for Selling Adult Videos

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — A Malaysian court on Friday charged adult creator HotDaddy and his two girlfriends and content partners for the crime of “offering sexual services,” after their arrest last week over the sex videos they made and marketed online.

The 32-year-old HotDaddy and his 24- and 27-year-old girlfriends were arrested on Jan. 17 at a house in Kampung Janda Baik, Bentong, Pahang. The content creators were raided by the Bukit Aman CID’s Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies Division.

On Friday, the three pleaded not guilty before Sessions Court judge Siti Aminah Ghazali, Malaysian newspaper The Star reported.

The government is charging HotDaddy and his partners with advertising “sexual services on X, which a reasonable person would understand as prostitution,” an offense that carries a sentence of up to 15 years in jail, a fine and also whipping.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Nidzuwan Abd Latif requested that the accused be held without bail.

The local press became fixated on the HotDaddy case, highlighting the creator’s supposed career as a “gigolo” and salaciously alluding to his previous divorces and his nonmonogamy.

A police spokesperson stated after the arrest, “Initial investigations revealed that the main suspect is a two-time divorcé. He started selling (so-called) sex-enhancing medicine from China through social media early last year.”

The spokesperson added that HotDaddy later “started recording his ‘rough’ sex escapades with multiple women and sold the videos via three channels on Telegram since last July.”

“On top of having girlfriends, the suspect is believed to have worked as a gigolo and even slept with customers or subscribers to his Telegram channel,” the spokesperson told The Star.

Pornography of any kind — magazines, pictures, DVDs and online content — is illegal in Malaysia, though enforcement is highly selective and arbitrary.
