LOS ANGELES — Hot Octopuss has recently redesigned its packaging and made policy changes based on its philosophy of “making sustainability a top priority.”
All parts of Hot Octopuss’ packaging are made from recyclable materials.
“We have always been on a sustainability mission,” said a rep, “so we recently made some major moves for Mother Earth. Not only did we cut back the number of air freight shipments by choosing sea transportation for most of our goods, but our sales team has also cut back on air travel to further offset our carbon emissions.”
The sales team will only travel when it is deemed “absolutely essential” for a retailer partner.
“This approach helps us provide more time and energy to individual stores during every carefully planned trip,” a rep noted. “It also helps ensure the quality of each visit versus the quantity, allowing the team to make an even bigger impact than before this change.”
Chief Sales and Partnership Officer April Lampert, who has been spearheading the changes, called the brand change something she has been passionate about over the years.
“It’s so important for the brand to be as sustainable as possible as 90% of all packaging ends up in landfills around the world,” Lampert said. “We saw this as an opportunity to make our packaging even more eye-catching, sexy and gorgeous with the objective of having customers love us just as much as Mother Earth does now. Hot Octopuss’ new packaging is proof that going green doesn’t have to be aesthetically sacrificial. It feels good to know that we’re contributing to a better world, one package and orgasm at a time.”
Co-founder Julia Margo explained that Hot Octopuss did not have to compromise quality to help save the planet and make sure that future generations “inherit a cleaner plane.”
“We didn't just stop at using recycled cardboard for our internal clamshells, which is more expensive than plastic,” Margo added. “We also minimized the amount of plastic used in manufacturing our goods.”
