LONDON — Former Erotic Trade Only magazine editor Dale Bradford has published a new book surveying the pleasure products industry in the U.K., “From Sex Shops to Supermarkets: How Adult Toys Became a Multi-Billion-Pound Industry.”
Bradford has been editing B2B magazines since 1995, and from 2003 to 2022 was editor of ETO.
“With almost every major U.K. supermarket now devoting shelf space to adult toys, ‘From Sex Shops to Supermarkets’ chronicles the phenomenal growth of the sector and how mainstream television, cinema, and celebrities have rushed to embrace it,” said a rep.
“From Sex Shops to Supermarkets” highlights many of the U.K. industry’s milestone moments, including “the great jiggle ball shortage of 2012.” The book also analyzes Lovehoney’s PR approach to building its business and reveals the strategies behind some of its most successful campaigns.
“Peppered with exclusive interviews and unique insights, this book is not only a valuable resource for anyone who has an interest in the sex toys sector, it also tells a fascinating story that cannot be found anywhere else,” the rep added.
“From Sex Shops to Supermarkets: How Adult Toys Became a Multi-Billion-Pound Industry” is available now as a paperback and e-book from Amazon platforms worldwide.
