LOS ANGELES — Retired performer Meggan Mallone has started a GoFundMe to help with medical expenses resulting from a catastrophic accident earlier this year.
Mallone, the GoFundMe text explains, was struck by at least one vehicle while running an errand to a local supermarket on the evening of St Patrick's Day 2022. The driver reportedly neglected to stop until witnesses followed.
Mallone, who according to IAFD was active in the industry between 2008 and 2018, “was admitted to the ER, remained intubated for two days, suffered multiple injuries including an 18-inch laceration of her face and scalp, fractures of several ribs, fracture of her thoracic spine from T2 to T6, and nearly lost her left arm at the shoulder.”
The GoFundMe aims to help Mallone with mounting costs, including long-term physical therapy and multiple surgeries.
“Meggan has a very long recovery ahead of her,” the GoFundMe states. “Your support will be going toward medical expenses not covered by insurance, health insurance premiums and other expenses associated with her recovery.”
