Stormy Daniels, 'Haunted Doll' Susan Shine in 'The Surreal Life' Reboot Trailer

LOS ANGELES — Stormy Daniels and her "haunted doll" Susan are the highlights of the new trailer for the reboot of early 2000s reality show “The Surreal Life,” premiering Oct. 24 on VH1.

The show originally ran for six seasons from 2003 until 2006. This year’s reboot is billed as “Season 7,” and features the adult star alongside Dennis Rodman, singer and “Celebrity Big Brother” personality Tamar Braxton, musician August Alsina, beauty YouTuber Manny Mua, “Living Single” actress Kim Coles, wrestler C.J. Perry, and “Malcolm in the Middle”’s Frankie Muniz, Entertainment Weekly reported yesterday.

Daniels spoke exclusively to XBIZ and said that she initially had "resisted doing the show because of the stigma attached and what I'd seen on the previous seasons."

The constantly-in-demand performer, however, ultimately acquiesced to the offer because she thought that the reboot "was more about finding the real story about the people on the show instead of how each of us has been generally perceived by the public and/or portrayed by the press."

For Daniels that "had a double appeal. Obviously, the Trump stuff was of great interest but I also saw it as my chance to shed light on people in the adult industry and that we are actual human beings. I haven't seen the show yet and we all know footage can be edited to spin things but I believe what was captured was effective in achieving the goal of the show."

Daniels said she "can't give anything away but I think viewers will be surprised and opinions changed about the cast. Some for good. Some not so much."

An Anticipated Return for a Reality TV Classic

“The Surreal Life” is “officially making a comeback,” EW’s Emlyn Travis wrote about the “iconic” reality show featuring “celebs set up house together in a luxurious mansion.”

The show is “returning to VH1 for its first season in 16 years” and “if its first trailer is any indication, it is set to be just as delightfully zany and drama-filled as its predecessor,” Travis added, unveiling the trailer.

“While sitting with her ‘haunted doll Susan,’ [Stormy] Daniels shared in the trailer that people might recognize her for being ‘the girl that [fucked] Trump,’ after she made headlines back in 2018 for allegedly having an affair with the former President.”

Susan the Doll's social media pages explain that "it was not until Susan interacted with Stormy that she became truly active and began to excel in the form of communication and even movement. Witnesses have heard Susan speak, seen her eyes shift and even her physical body pivot and move. And yes, we have it documented."

As XBIZ reported, news of Daniels' casting was announced in July. Nina L. Diaz, president of content and chief creative officer at MTV Entertainment Group, noted at the time how "The Surreal Life" is "known for bringing together some of the biggest names in pop culture and creating many unforgettable moments in reality television."
