Woodhull Freedom Foundation to Host 'Censorship of Sexual Freedom' Webinar

WASHINGTON — The Woodhull Freedom Foundation will host a panel on "The Censorship of Sexual Freedom" on Thursday, Aug. 4 as part of the organization's Sexual Freedom Summit.

The event is part of Woodhull’s Human Rights Commissions series. It will be held at 2 p.m. EDT in Alexandria, Va., and streamed on Facebook Live.

“Censorship impacts everyone and almost all of the rising tide of censorship today is focused on sexual expression,” said a rep. “The draconian measures already put in place not only violate our Constitution, they also violate our fundamental human right to sexual freedom.”

The discussion will feature nine panelists who have been impacted by censorship or have joined the fight against it: museum curator Rebecca Fasman, librarian Martha Hickson, sex worker activist Lotus Lain, author Kyle Lukoff, free speech advocates Will Creeley and Chris Finan, sex therapist Amanda Pasciucco, human rights lawyer RJ Thompson and LGBTQ+ activist Zander Moricz, who is the youngest plaintiff in the “Don’t Say Gay” lawsuit against the state of Florida.

The event will focus on “the impact of censorship on individuals, highlighting opportunities for cross-movement engagement to push back against the growing tide of laws and policies.”

Woodhull’s Human Rights Commissions series centers the voices of marginalized groups in order to "investigate, promote, and protect human rights."
