LOS ANGELES — Laney Grey stars in the new MissaX romantic drama "Come Home" co-starring Cody Steele, Nathan Bronson, Jason Pierce and Reagan Foxx under the direction of Ricky Greenwood.
As the story opens, noted a rep, "Marie (Grey) is out with her husband, Michael (Steele), for their anniversary. Marie is doing an excellent job of keeping her composure even though her relationship with Michael has been strained lately, so much so that she entertained the interests of a personal trainer from her gym, John (Bronson). She doesn't realize quite yet that John is also working as a bartender in the restaurant where she's sharing a romantic dinner with her husband. Two weeks ago, she called John to tell him it's off, but yet, he still stares at her from a distance, his eyes burning with envy that the girl of his dreams has chosen her husband over him."
Meanwhile, the rep continued, "Marie's mother, Sophia (Foxx), is constantly meddling in her life. Marie keeps her mother at a distance when she's going through an uncertain time; Sophia always uses Marie's distress as a means to manipulate her daughter. Marie hasn't been answering Sophia's phone calls and so Sophia has a new plan to get in touch with Marie. Sophia visits the home of Marie's assistant, a handsome young man named Cody (Pierce). Cody is a good, married man, but Sophia knows all the right buttons to push to get what she wants from him."
Studio founder Missa X told XBIZ, "There is no hero or heroine in this story. Every single character will pull you in to like or dislike them, and their actions might make you change your mind. Our protagonist, Laney, is in search of happiness in love. She's torn between two men. Which will she choose?"
"We've been fortunate to work with Laney on many projects but this is her first feature with MissaX," she continued. "Laney's a talented actor, an artist who crafts her character with layers of emotion. The result is a truly realistic character who pulls the viewer in and forces them to anticipate what happens next."
She called Foxx's scene with Steele "a standout in this series."
"Reagan brought drama and passion to her role. MissaX members noted the heavy eye contact with Reagan and Codey, passionate kissing and playful banter between the two," she added. "Reagan will be starring in her own feature next month, and we're very excited about that."
Greenwood told XBIZ that set decorator Kylie Ireland "worked miracles" by turning a Mexican restaurant shooting location into an upscale Italian restaurant set.
"It was the perfect setting for the tension and romance between the characters played by Laney, Codey and Nathan," Greenwood said. "I knew we were going to have a great feature with an all-star cast. I appreciate the actors' dedication to their roles, and the crew for making movie magic happen."
Grey told XBIZ she is "so beyond grateful" to have shot her first feature for MissaX.com.
"Those days spent creating with everyone were absolute bliss. I'm feeling very thankful to have been a part of such an amazing project," she said.
