BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Hustler magazine's 48th anniversary issue, titled "The Icons Issue," is available today on newsstands and in digital format.
The issue, a rep explained, “pays tribute to the living legends that are the lifeblood of the adult industry, with its list of Hustler legends.”
The rep added that Hustler is “indebted to the incredible performers who make porn possible.”
The 10 models featured as “icons” are Angela White, Abella Danger, Ana Foxxx, Cherie DeVille, Abigail Mac, Riley Reid, Romi Rain, Jill Kassidy, Lisa Ann and Brigette B.
The issue also features pictorials of Casey Calvert, Scarlit Scandal and newcomer Annie, and celebrates five cartoonists who, the rep said, have contributed to the magazine’s success through the decades: George Winners, Bob Muleady, George Trosley, John Billette and Dan Collins.
The rep noted that Larry Flynt “always considered the cartoons to be as important as any other element of his magazine.”
Introducing the issue in her Publisher's Statement, Liz Flynt enthuses about the positive growth Hustler has seen in the adult industry through the years.
“Today’s performers take pride in their brand and control of their careers,” she notes. “They connect with fans and create and market their own content.”
However, Flynt also warns in the piece that opposition to respect and freedom — both in the industry and the country — continues.
Hustler, she stressed, “will always defend the rights of sex workers, performers and pornographers to do their jobs without oppressive interference. We will always advocate for women's and LGBTQ rights. We will lobby to protect freedom of speech. This is our past. This is our future.”
