DENVER — Jessy Dubai will host an IG Live Friday, 11 a.m. (PDT), to discuss the dangers of silicone injections and her own upcoming silicone removal surgery.
“When I was young and growing up to become the woman I am today, I made some choices, some good and some bad," said Dubai. "I made decisions that I knew were risky and could have consequences down the line, but I didn’t care. Because I was so determined to make my dreams come true, to be a gorgeous woman and be accepted and loved, I didn’t think of the future; I didn’t think I had a future based on the statistics of the mortality rate of trans women, especially women of color.
"I am starting to feel the effects of injecting silicone shots in my body to enhance my figure," Dubai continued. "That decision led me to make yet another decision that will change my future. I have decided to undergo surgery to remove the substance that was injected in my body. I am scared to death because I know that after the surgery my body will look different and I will have the scars as a reminder of the mistakes that I made, for not caring about myself and putting my life in danger. But today I do know my worth and I love myself and the life I’ve made for myself. I enjoy my family, my successes and look forward to achieving more goals. It’s time to take the poison out of my body before it’s too late to do anything about it.”
Dubai will host the IG Live to answer questions, discuss her situation and speak to other trans and cis women about these issues and related concerns.
