Adult Performer Sergeant Miles Arrested Over Jan. 6 Breach of U.S. Capitol

WASHINGTON — Adult performer Sergeant Miles was arrested last week and charged with assaulting law enforcement officers during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

According to a statement by the U.S. Department of Justice, Miles was arrested in Florida and “charged in a criminal complaint filed in the District of Columbia with assaulting, resisting or impeding officers, civil disorder, engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds with a dangerous weapon, and related offenses.”

The Justice Department alleges that Miles participated in actions that some lawmakers have termed “an insurrection,” aiming to disrupt a joint session of the U.S. Congress, which was in the process of ascertaining and counting the electoral votes related to the presidential election.

According to court documents, on Jan. 6, Miles “marched in a group to the Capitol, eventually making his way to the restricted grounds of the West Front of the building. While there, he and other rioters engaged in a confrontation with police officers who were protecting the Capitol. During this confrontation, Miles shoved and attempted to punch police officers.”

Miles, the government alleges, “then made his way up the staircase to the Upper West Terrace of the Capitol. At approximately 2:13 p.m., other rioters smashed in a window on one of the Senate Wing doors. A handful of people then entered the building through the broken window and opened the Senate Wing Door. Meanwhile, other rioters, including Miles, continued to smash the window on the other side of the Senate Wing Door. Miles smashed a plank of wood into the window and then entered the building through that broken window. He briefly walked through the building and then exited through another door.”

The DOJ attached photographic evidence identifying one of the persons involved in the incident as Miles.

Miles — one of about 800 people arrested and one of about 250 people charged in relation to the the Jan. 6, 2021 incidents — “was released pending further proceedings in the District of Columbia,” according to the DOJ statement.

Sergeant Miles Responds

After the DOJ made the news of Miles’ arrest public, the performer spoke to the U.S. subsidiary of the U.K. tabloid The Sun.

The 39-year-old Miles — whom the paper identified as “an Iraq War veteran” who was “shot and retired in 2006” — told The Sun he is innocent.

“I maintain my innocence from this political witch hunt,” Miles stated. “I'm looking for an attorney at this time and have no further comment.”

The Sun also noted that “five people died during the violence, including a police officer.”

The Sun is owned by Rupert Murdoch, who also owns Fox News.

Sergeant Miles has performed in the adult industry since 2013, and his IAFD page shows over 300 scene credits spanning gay, bisexual and straight content.

He has also produced content in Florida under the label Sgt Productions, including at least one gay scene with overt political content marketed as “Banned MAGA Scene.”

LGBTQ+ news site The Advocate noted that “Miles isn't the only LGBTQ+ person to have been arrested for participation in the insurrection. Trans former militia member Jessica Watkins faces charges of sedition in relation to January 6. Gay media personality Brandon Straka was sentenced to house arrest, probation, and a fine.”
