As a free spirit and avid fan of adult content for many years, Alexis Fawx eagerly took the plunge into exploring an industry career herself when she answered a Craigslist ad in 2010 to be an extra for Bang Bros' “Dancing Bear” series in Florida. The series centers on male strippers performing for rowdy bachelorette-style parties, with some of the female audience members engaging in sexual acts with the dancers.
After Fawx showed up to the office, she recalls, a producer offered the group of women a list of sex acts they could perform and how much they would get paid for each. She raised her hand to give a blowjob to a male stripper and soon thereafter, Bang Bros gave her a contract.
“Looking back, I’ve learned a lot about who I am,” she reminisced. “I’m at peace with who I am. I’ve found a great place to be, physically and mentally. I love what I do and all the opportunities it’s provided me. I’ve experienced a lot of growth, both personally and professionally. I don’t think of them as changes but instead an evolution.”
Fawx then learned early on how to market herself on Twitter and Instagram, advertising scenes and creating a streaming schedule as a cam model. At the time, her income consisted solely of studio shoots and camming.
In 2016, Fawx saw a shift “where the models started to have control of their own content and the ability to monetize their work,” which she described as a real game-changer.
“I think it’s awesome that we, as talent, can control who we shoot with, be creative in our scenes, earn income from our work, and most of all, interact with our fans.”
As her fame and financial independence grew in tandem, Fawx was given the opportunity to sign as a Brazzers contract star. She also ventured into various entrepreneurial revenue streams including a podcast, coffee brand, sex toys and more. The prolific and perennially popular star, who recently claimed the coveted XBIZ "MILF Performer of the Year" crown, shares her career highlights in this exclusive interview.
XBIZ: Who among your peers, friends, and colleagues most uplifts you?
FAWX: I’m very fortunate to have a great support system of friends and associates who motivate me. Cherie DeVille, Phoenix Marie and Silvia Saige are such strong women in my life who are very supportive, and they inspire me to be a better person and performer. Joe is my business partner, a brother, and he is always there to keep me grounded. I’ve never been super close to family, so having someone like him and others is essential to maintaining my focus and career goals.
I have my incredible PR team: Tanya Tate and Alex Monstar of Star Factory PR, helping me promote my brand. And Bud at 101 Modeling, who is there to look after my best interests. A common element with all these people is they have positive energy. Those are the people you need in your life.
XBIZ: What has been your most challenging on-screen role and what has been your favorite one thus far?
FAWX: I’d say “Seen Not Heard: An Alexis Fawx Story” for Adult Time’s Pure Taboo. It was the first story I have ever pitched and had input from start to finish. I play a person with a mental health condition who relives past sexual experiences with my younger self, played by Bobbi Dylan, and with hospital orderly Seth Gamble. I have flashbacks or hallucinations in the scene where I have a threesome with Bobbi and Seth. It was such an emotionally intense scene.
My favorite one is a toss-up between two movies: Brazzers’ “The Voyeur Next Door” and Digital Playground’s “Unbound.” I am so proud of each because both were stories from my imagination, and they received a few award nominations for writing and scenes. So that was so awesome to see happen. I believe seeing anything you imagined come to life and being well-received by peers and fans is one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had in the industry yet.
XBIZ: Discuss your entrepreneurial ventures, like High AF Coffee and the High as Fawx podcast.
FAWX: For my High AF Coffee, I was sitting in my backyard smoking a joint and sipping coffee, and I thought to myself, “Why don’t I have my own coffee?” So I contacted my good friend George from Currency Coffee about getting my own branded label. George gave me samples to do a blind taste test, which I tasted along with several of my friends.
The ones with the best reviews are the ones I chose to sell, which are Sumatra and AJ’s Blend. I came up with the name High Attitude For Coffee, which lets me have my name in the brand without the stigma of my adult brand.
Recently, I collaborated with a local beer brewery, Astronomy Aleworks, incorporating my coffee into their beers. So far, they have made three beers: Cheers to Being Happy AF, Cheers to Breakfast and Jolly AF. We just canned Cheers to Breakfast which is wild. It’s so super cool. You can try out the beers at Astronomy Aleworks and Khoury’s Fine Wine in Vegas. Coffee drinkers can purchase my coffee at highafcoffee.com and Khoury’s Fine Wine.
Then my “High As Fawx” podcast evolved from a live variety show. A comedian friend, Richy Leis, asked me to host a cannabis-friendly variety show at El Cid in Los Angeles. I hosted a few shows with acrobats, dancers, musical acts and stand-up comedians. When the pandemic happened and everything shut down, I still wanted to promote cannabis and bring in interesting people to talk to, so the “High As Fawx” podcast was born. I co-host the podcast with my best friend, Joe. Like the variety show, we have unique and engaging people on to have fun and laugh.
I’m still looking into hosting more live shows once restrictions start to open up and cannabis lounges begin to pop up here in Vegas. For now, everyone can listen to the podcast at highasfawxshow.com.
XBIZ: Talk about your ambassadorship for Jardín Premium Cannabis and your general enthusiasm for cannabis.
FAWX: Jardín is a cannabis dispensary in Vegas. Before I became an ambassador, I enjoyed their knowledgeable and friendly budtenders, along with their quality products from joints, dabs, gummies and drinks. Performer Damon Dice introduced me to their marketing team. After seeing how supportive and enthusiastic I am about the lifestyle, they offered me the opportunity to be one of their ambassadors.
I’ve been a user of cannabis for a very long time, before it started to become more mainstream and the medicinal benefits became public. Cannabis helps me with my appetite, sleep, focus and keeping my creative mind open.
XBIZ: How has your relationship with Brazzers developed since signing with them?
FAWX: Signing with Brazzers has been amazing. Even before I signed with them, I always had a great time and business relationship with the people on set, from the directors to the photographers, crew and talent. It’s one of the reasons why I signed with them; it feels like a big family.
They are also receptive to creative ideas for potential future scenes or scenarios, and our safety and well-being are important to them. I’m happy and having a blast, which shows in everything I do with them. When you feel good, are seen and heard, it comes through your performance in each scene.
XBIZ: Describe your approach to monetizing content on platforms like OnlyFans and ZZPlus.
FAWX: The most important thing about monetizing content is interacting with my fans. I created a post called the “Daily Boob” where I post photos of my 32G boobs each day. There are topless photos where I’m gardening, at the beach, waking up from bed, showering or driving in my Jeep, for example.
I get several requests for custom videos ranging from jerk-off instruction to naughty stepmom, small penis humiliation and solos. My biggest seller is dick ratings; I request fans send me videos of them jerking it along with photos of their dick. I dress up as a doctor and refer to myself as Dr. Fawx, and I critique their dick from the video and pictures they send me on film.
It’s all about connecting with the audience and being interactive. While it is a business, I have fun with it, which works with my fans.
XBIZ: Tell us your overarching strategy for social media growth and engagement.
FAWX: I always believe in being positive in my posts, and I love hearing from people when a post inspires them. I try to post daily, whether it’s inspirational quotes, memes, products that interest me, my dogs, my travels and, most of all, promoting my friends.
However, I also believe in stepping away from social media and creating balance. Time away allows you to produce quality content for a mass audience. For me, my social media is selling more than just “Alexis Fawx.” I look at social media as a marketing tool for all my businesses, encompassing coffee, podcasting, variety shows, etc. I want all adults, especially women, to be engaged in what I’m doing.
Engagement is key, be it in the form of likes, shares or purchases, even if public social media formats/networks don’t make it easy for us sex workers to promote anything we do, even when playing by the “rules.”
XBIZ: What was it like attending the inaugural X3 Expo and then winning MILF Performer of the Year at the 2022 XBIZ Awards?
FAWX: It was amazing. X3 was unforgettable. I loved interacting with my fans again after a two-year hiatus, and it was such a rewarding experience. I got my friend Candy Bee to create outfits for the expo. The highlight of the expo was seeing Busta Rhymes perform live on stage, up close.
As for the XBIZ Awards, I was genuinely not expecting to win MILF Performer of the Year. I was just happy to be among other talented performers on the list. Candy did an amazing job on my award show outfit, especially the top hat and cane. When I got on stage to accept the award, I gave a tip of my hat to show my respect and appreciation. I was shaking as I tried to find the words to express my gratitude to everyone.
XBIZ: Any major ambitions you’re pursuing this year?
FAWX: Yes, I’m already moving forward on several projects.
I always wanted my own calendar, and I made it happen this year. It’s a 12-month calendar with an overall Zodiac theme instead of a collection of straightforward bikini shots. It’s still sexy, but there is a concept to it. VICE Intimate Portraiture captured some fantastic images, and I wore custom outfits made by Forplay Style House. I’m very proud of how it turned out and encourage everyone to get a copy from FawxShop.com.
I also plan to travel more and check more places off my bucket list. Of course, I want to shoot scenes for Brazzers, hopefully writing and directing some of the scenes one day.
I’m also going to expand the “High As Fawx” podcast and hopefully host the variety show live again as restrictions open up. I plan to have my High AF coffee in more local places here in Vegas and around the country. I have a lot going on and a lot more to come.
