LOS ANGELES — Svakom, in collaboration with international nonprofit organization Drop in the Bucket, has begun construction of a second water well to benefit the Alero Health Center III in Uganda.
It is the second such water well co-funded by Svakom; the first was drilled last summer.
Drop in the Bucket assists with community development by constructing water and sanitation facilities at schools and communities in sub-Saharan Africa.
"We are happy to see SVAKOM continue working with us,” a rep said. “We have many health centers in Uganda that still urgently need water."
Lack of clean water within easy reach of a medical facility poses a great risk to patients’ recovery. The drilling of these wells is a time-consuming and expensive process, noted the rep, and due to the global pandemic currently underway this process has become further elongated.
"Svakom looks on with pride hearing the positive comments from workers and patients at the Alero Health Center III as the hardships of their work and recovery are improved via the newly drilled well," the rep said. "Svakom is committed to contributing to the betterment of the world. Even the smallest donation or contribution can make a difference and you never know what dreams can come true when you try; after all, dreams have no limits."
