LOS ANGELES — Aliya Brynn is encouraging her fans to spay and neuter their pets to mark World Spay Day 2022 this Tuesday.
Launched in 1995, World Spay Day is an annual campaign that aims to encourage people to save animal lives by spaying and neutering companion animals and feral cats. Brynn, who shares her home with three cats and a dog, is asking fans to tweet about #WorldSpayDay to spread awareness about the importance of neutering one’s companion animals — not only for their health and safety but for the safety of the animals around them and future dogs and kittens that could be born without a home.
"It really makes me sick just how many pets go abandoned around the world every day,” said Brynn. “Please join me in helping raise awareness on World Spay Day by tweeting the #WorldSpayDay hashtag and make sure to spay or neuter your animals to avoid overpopulation."
"Spay and save a life," she added.
According to the ASPCA, millions of healthy dogs and cats are euthanized in the United States each year simply because there aren’t enough homes to go around.
