Preston Garland Named Eldorado Vice President

BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Preston Garland has been appointed as vice president of Eldorado Trading Company.

Garland will report to Eldorado CEO Wanda Garland, assisting with general operations and developing long-term strategic planning.   

A Colorado native, Garland began his career at Eldorado in the warehouse as a shipping and packing lead from 2010 until 2012. He later worked in the marketing department as senior marketing strategist from 2012 until 2019. Garland left Eldorado in the summer of 2019 to attend graduate school at the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He graduated in May 2021 with his MBA. His studies included a special focus on finance and real estate.

Since Garland’s return, he has worked closely with the Eldorado executive team, focusing on special projects.

 “My biggest priority is creating a vision that drives Eldorado to be the best distributor possible for our employees, customers and manufacturers,” he said. “In these uncertain times, it is more important than ever to be an honest partner while the industry navigates the headwinds of supply chain disruption and inflation during the ongoing pandemic.”

Derek DalPiaz, Eldorado’s director of sales and marketing, said he appreciates Garland’s vast industry experience.

 “I’ve really enjoyed working with Preston,” DalPiaz said. “His understanding of many areas of the business and his influence in the industry have been a big benefit for me personally. In addition to his business acumen, his meticulous nature and calm demeanor have been key in driving projects and solutions that help our customers and vendors.”

Eldorado CEO Wanda Garland says she is distinctly gratified by her son’s return.

“It’s exciting to have Preston back at Eldorado after completing his MBA,” she said. “I look forward to mentoring his growth as we lead this company into the future. It gives me much pleasure to have his support as we continue to fortify Eldorado’s legacy as a leading distributor in this industry.”

Garland will be working at the company’s headquarters in Broomfield, Colorado.
